Pilates

targets the deep postural muscles and works by building strength from the inside out, re-balancing the body by bringing it into correct alignment.

Pilates

is a measured and controlled approach using low impact exercises which look to improve the body's flexibility and stamina as well as developing its strength and endurance.

Kirsty began working in the fitness industry in 1995 teaching a variety of group fitness classes and developed her experience and qualifications over the years to include personal training and sports massage.

She undertook her Pilates training with the Energywise Academy in Edinburgh in 2006 and over the last 8 years has worked her experience and qualifications up to Level 3 as recognized by Skills Active and REPs (Register of Exercise Professionals).

She has taught and worked with clients at venues and gyms in Ayrshire, Australia, Manchester, Edinburgh and West Lothian, relocating back to Ayrshire in '08.

My

Pilates

classes are mat based and numbers are limited to a max of 12. This is to ensure participants can be properly guided and observed. My role is to work around the class assisting clients achieve alignment and perform exercises safely and effectively offering alternatives and progressions.

Pilates

is a physical fitness program developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th Century. His method Contrology involves his 8 Pilates Principles:

Proper Alignment / Centering / Concentration / Control / Precision / Breathing / Flowing Movement.



Participants report feeling taller and lengthened after a class, less tense in the shoulders and reduced/relief of back discomfort. Generally more relaxed and less stressed
